I love ballet because it is a beautiful art form that expresses character. When I am not doing ballet, I am thinking about it. I am thinking about all the steps of my routines and how I am supposed to be positioned. Ballet must love me back because I have only been dancing, in general, for two months and I am already in intermediate ballet and am in four different performances.
Something that makes me mad is when people say that ballet is easy but trust me, if you take a few classes you will learn better. Being a ballerina is anything but easy because I have to worry about my arm positions, if my feet are in the right direction, if I am pointing my toes, if my head is up, if my shoulders are down, if I am jumping high enough, if my splits are long enough, and if I look good enough to fit the part. I would have to say that the hardest thing to do in ballet is to make the performance look easy. See the only reason why people think that it is easy is because ballerinas trick you into thinking that (we also have great acting skills). I never will understand why other ballerinas do not want to go to class because I will always love being there every moment of my life.
My dream consists of ballet and I hope to soon be on pointe. Pointe is the ballet shoe with the wood at the end of it where ballerinas have to stand on the very tips of their toes. Blisters are part of the job. In some ballet companies, the more blisters you have the greater the company is.
Ballet is my favorite hobby because it is beautiful, passionate, but hard working. I love the challenge it gives me. Dance is passion, sacrifice, and obsession. Nothing will ever change that.
